Molasses Misadventures

Deep beneath the winter forest lives Rupert, a cheerful mole with one grand dream: to decorate the whole woodland for the holidays. Each year, he scurries through the snow with garlands made of pine needles and cranberries and shimmering little ornaments he’s collected from lost trinkets.

Rupert’s only problem?

If you must know… moles keep an unusual schedule. They’re awake for a few hours, then must sleep for a few more. And Rupert is especially prone to dozing off mid-task.

So as he bustles around the forest trying to hang decorations, he often plops on his tush without warning, catching a snooze. The next morning, the other woodland creatures discover Rupert’s signature across the snow: tiny garlands, half-hung ornaments… and a pair of perfectly round snowy impressions where Rupert had taken one of his surprise naps.

Still, every little imprint is a sign that Rupert is out there trying his best, never giving up. He loves spreading holiday cheer in his own wiggly, molasses-sweet way.
